What to do in the 4th arrondissement ? :

Place des Vosges : The first of the 5 royal squares of Paris, the Place des Vosges is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful squares in Paris. A place full of history, which will definitively transform the face of the capital at the beginning of the 17th century.

Visiting the Place des Vosges is above all a journey back to the time of the kings of France. As soon as you arrive on the square, you will notice the unity of the composition of the buildings and their uniform height. There are only two exceptions to this rule: the King’s Pavilion on the south side (accessed from rue Saint-Antoine via rue de Birague) and the Queen’s Pavilion opposite (entrance on rue du Béarn).

In addition, it is possible to visit the House of Victor Hugo in this extraordinary square.

Hôtel de Ville : The seat of the municipality since 1357, discover the history and anecdotes linked to this marvellous monument, one of the oldest symbols of Paris, intimately linked since its creation to the history of the capital.

Centre Pompidou : Established in the heart of Paris in 1977 at the instigation of the President of the Republic Georges-Pompidou, who wished to create a monumental complex devoted to modern art, placing Paris among the world capitals of this art, along with New York and London, Beaubourg is a place where museums and creative centres coexist, in which all forms of contemporary art are represented.

Notre-Dame de Paris Cathedral : A building dating from the Middle Ages, the first stone was laid in 1163 and the construction lasted two centuries until it was completed in 1351. The architecture is unusual for its time. The stained glass windows, the nave, the roof structure and the towers, which rise to a height of 69 metres, were a real technical feat. But what impresses most is the decoration: like an open-air picture book, it tells the story of Catholicism through sculptures and paintings.

Île Saint Louis : More bourgeois and less touristy than the Île de la Cité, the Île Saint-Louis remains one of the most pleasant places to stroll in the capital. Having remained virtually unchanged for nearly four centuries, its architecture and independent village atmosphere make the island an ideal place for a stroll in any season.
