QUAYSIDE – BUSINESS BAY – ELLINGTON

The name may bring to mind boring jackets and ties, but Business Bay is actually one of the city’s liveliest neighbourhoods. An idyllic mini-metropolis full of life, a place to see and be seen. Business Bay is traversed by the winding Dubai Water Canal, a man-made canal connecting Old Dubai to the Arabian Gulf. The promenade along it, lined with inviting restaurants, trendy lounges and luxury hotels, provides a perfect backdrop to the remarkable architecture of this urban jungle, where every skyscraper competes for attention. The personality of Business Bay can be summed up in two words: contemporary luxury. The district is home to some of the city’s most elegant hospitality institutions. The group of hotels and residential towers known as Al Habtoor City of its flagships, while there is no shortage of delicious restaurants to satisfy every gastronomic preference. However, the district is best known as the home of the renowned La Perle
production. Conceived by creative director Franco Dragone, La Perle celebrates the region’s history of pearl harvesting in a purpose-built aquatic theatre. Where there are high skyscrapers, there are always great views. Business Bay is a succession of rooftop venues, many with spectacular views of the Burj Khalifa.
